Oh, the joys of freedom. Caleb was so excited to go to bed last night - had me tuck him in without so much as a peep. Apparently, he had plans for after I closed the door behind me. We heard him playing around his room for only a few minutes and then it went silent. We found him again with this trashcan and wet & clean diapers, but he added several books and toys to the mix this time along with the passed out in the sitting position look. That boy! When we checked on Aaron, we found that he too had played himself to sleep and built with some blocks to pass the time away. The plan is for these two boys to share a room within the next couple of weeks - what are in for then?!?

As of our sono yesterday, our June baby has turned into a May baby! The dr. wants to do the c-section the day I turn 37 weeks to avoid some complications so looks like baby girl will be here sooner than we thought! She looked great on the sono and measured a bit ahead so that is good since we need her to be 'fully cooked' at 37 weeks. She did not cooperate as much with the 3D sono this time and kept her arm over her face for the most part - the above is a profile shot with her nose & mouth up against her arm. Hard to believe she will be here in just one month from today!

Happy 2nd birthday to Caleb! In the midst of the craziness of packing to move to the new house and having a garage sale, we stopped to celebrate Caleb's 2nd birthday. He had a small Sesame Street birthday party at Papa & Grammy's house. There was no way we could host a party with the mess we are at our house now (and the mess I am physically - another bad stomach bug this week for me and some major back pain going on). He had tons of fun. Special thanks to Aunt Lindsey for making the super cute cake & cupcakes, to Nana for making the way cute Elmo shirt for the birthday boy, to Aunt Kasey for braving the trip with a 3 -week-old and to my parents for hosting when we could not. Caleb had a blast and as always, I think his favorite part was the food! He woke up this morning to Thomas presents from us & Aaron ... Aaron has been playing with them like crazy while Caleb naps!

A friend of mine got a new camera and asked if she could "practice" her photography skills on us and do some maternity shots with the whole family. So it was all very casual and took place in our backyard. The boys sometimes were up for pics and sometimes not. Sarah did a great job and I really appreciate her thinking of us! I had maternity pics taken with Aaron (thanks to Jennifer!) and never got around to them with Caleb. Hopefully, having these taken will not be the start of his middle child syndrome. :)

Our MOPS group had Critter Day at a local camp. The boys had tons of fun! We got to see (and have the option of petting) a bunny, ferret, turtle, snake, lizard, tarantula, and plenty more. There was a no screaming rule which I found hard to abide by. Overall, a fun morning in the beautiful Hill Country.

We have been quite pleased with Caleb's transition into his toddler crib. For a full week just about, he has only come at once when trying to go to sleep and he obeyed Scott right away when told to go back to bed. He has done so good! So last night was the first night he got into a bit a mischief. We put him to bed and could hear him playing in his room. He never came out and the play noise didn't last too long so we thought we'd see how it ended up. Well, we finally went to check on him and he had tucked himself back into bed - complete with his trash can in bed with him, wet diapers surrounding him and his diaper basket and clean diapers covering him. Aaron just saw this pic, and said "I think maybe he was cold and was trying to get warm. " Aw, the joys of freedom~

Friday marked a new decade for me - the big 3-0. A fairly uneventful day spent attempting to pack for the new house (with the ever-present help of two little boys) which ended with Scott bringing home flowers for me and taking me out to a nice dinner (kid-free thanks to my in-laws), followed by a romantic trip to Lowes. :) It was a nice day, and I have had a very blessed 30 years and look forward to what all this new decade holds.
Update: My parents had us and my in-laws over for a small birthday dinner last night. My mother-in-law made the best cheesecake ever! It was even picture worthy and tasted as good as it looked! It had 30 candles on it - notice all the smoke!

Well, Caleb decided to climb out of his crib yesterday, thus forcing our hand to convert his crib to a toddler bed. We knew from Aaron (who climbed out around 18 months old) that this would make for many restless nights so we have been putting off the switch for as long as possible. It is probably good Caleb did climb out and made our decision for us since we have been debating whether or not to borrow a 2nd crib for baby girl. This way, hopefully Caleb will be adjusted to a big boy bed prior to baby sister's arrival. So last night the boys had tons of fun playing with daddy's tools and taking off the crib front- then they had tons of fun playing in the open crib - then it came time for bedtime ... Caleb was pretty much scared of his open crib. I finally rocked him to sleep and he did moderately well through the night with Scott and I intervening a couple of times. When he woke up this morning, he came out all on his own and yelled for "mommy!" The sad part is that usually when he wakes up at 6:45am he will stay and play in his crib for 30 - 45 more minutes. Oh well, had to happen some time. Here's hoping for a smooth transition and better tonight! My baby boy is growing up.

Looks like we might be moving - a whole .7 miles from our current house. How did this happen? Still trying to figure that out exactly since we had no intention of moving ... a few weeks ago the realtor that sold us our house 6 years ago was talking to Scott in the office and asked "So, ya ready for a new house?" Scott jokingly replied, "gotta buyer for ours?" end of conversation. A few days later, we get a call asking if she can show our house to a couple she has been working with. So now there is a contract on our house after it being seen once by this couple, and we have a contract on the above house. If all goes as planned, we will be moving mid-May, a whopping 2 1/2 weeks before baby! Craziness! Of course, we work in the title business and have seen too many deals fall apart at the last minute lately so we will believe it when keys are in hand. So hold on baby girl - we've got a few things to accomplish before we meet you face to face!

Introducing our newest niece - Ellen Rae. Born Saturday, April 3rd - 7 pounds, 14 ounces - 19 inches long. Easter weekend got a bit busier with a call from my sister on Saturday morning saying Baby Ellen was finally on her way (5 days past her due date). Thus ensued a whirlwind trip to Temple. The boys stayed home with Scott since it would be such a short trip and we had a special Easter family plans in town. I rode with my mom on the way to the hospital - I don't think I've seen my mom drive 85 mph before! We got to the hospital in plenty of time and Ellen was born later that afternoon. I then rode back home with my dad. My preggo body did not appreciate the 6 hours total in the car and waiting in the hospital - some serious back pain ever since. Ellen is precious and Alayna is such a proud big sister. A very special Easter blessing indeed!

We had a wonderful weekend of family. The boys picked out their Easter outfits this year and we were so surprised when Aaron picked a "neck tie." They were both so handsome but not very into pictures. These were the best we could do. Easter weekend was also very busy with the arrival of my newest niece - more pics to come up that. Happy Easter!
