Thanksgiving Feast

Daddy's Little Pumpkin

The kids' "Thanksgiving Feast" at Children's Day Out is always so fun. This was our first & last year that we will have THREE kids at the feast. We got to eat with each child & their class and Aaron even did a special Thanksgiving song with his class (video to come if it will upload). Caleb LOVED having us sit with him and in true Caleb fashion he was very excited about all the food! I think he was the only 2-year-old that really "feasted." Aaron was super sweet and in a hugging mood. He gave me the biggest hug and said "Families are families forever!!!" He LOVED having Leah visit his table and them wanted to find Caleb for a hug too! A fun day and we are thankful for so many blessings.

Happy Birthday Aaron!

Loved his "Joker Bot" from Caleb & Leah!
Family night birthday - eating the remains of his birthday party cake. ;)

Big kid birthday party!

Caleb enjoying the bounce house - first time he's really gotten in it and it was hard to keep him out!

Nana manning her cookie decorating station.
Aaron had his 5th birthday this week. So hard to believe he is FIVE years old. He wanted to have a "big kid party" this year so we invited his preschool class and few other friends that met his age requirement. :) He is very into party planning so came up with all the activities and games - we had "decorate your own party bag" (complete with Toy Story stamps, stickers & markers), "cookie decorating station" (Thanks to Nana we had Woody's cowboy hat, star badge and Rex - the T-Rex to decorate), "Pin the Tail on Bullseye" (Thanks to Aunt Merydwen for helping with the graphic for that), "Shoot the Bad Guy" (with the foam Buzz Lightyear shooter", and "To Infinity & Beyond" bounce house. I lost count but we had at least 15 "big kids" here for the party - praise God for good weather and we were able to do most everything outside. To my surprise, the kids all did really well with our "stations" and all seemed to have a good time. This was also our first party to have parents drop their kids off like big kids. My little boy is growing up! We celebrated with family on his actual birthday - presents from us on his birthday morning and presents & dinner with grandparents and cousin that night. Aaron had a blast!

First Tights

First tights are a milestone, right? The weather was cooler this past Sunday so when it came time to dress Leah for church and we were wondering what would best keep her little legs warm, SCOTT asked if we had any tights! I didn't know he even knew what they were called! Turns out someone did give us some as a baby gift so Scott dressed Leah up in her first tights. So cute! Aaron loved it for Leah too!

First Cereal

Leah is 5 months+ old so we finally decided to introduce rice cereal after she went from sleeping all night to waking up to eat (which I think is mainly from a cold she had but just in case...). We waited a while with her b/c I just felt like her eating like a big girl made her entirely too grown up- not to mention the mess and hassle! So we did finally introduce rice cereal to her - we are so fortunate to have both sets of grandparents in town and to be able to get everyone together for this milestone on the spur of the moment. They are to thank for the paparazzi during the video below (if it ever uploads...). Leah enjoyed it and now squeals with delight during cereal time each day! I have plans to introduce her first non-cereal food on Thanksgiving Day.

Silly Boys

These boys can be so silly sometimes. This activity started out as a sack race and then turned in to a fashion show by Aaron proudly modeling his new "overalls." Never a dull moment that's for sure! I like these pics b/c these shopping bags are also the only things the boys can claim as theirs from our annual Operation Christmas Child shopping. Each year each kid does a box for a child their age - once again, Aaron did a fantastic job generously picking out gifts and then leaving the store without anything being bought for him.. Caleb tagged along this year and did pretty good too!

Happy Halloween

Aaron loved being "Buzz" and getting his face painted at the fall festival.
Caleb loved being "Woody" and was very proud of his hat and boots.
Leah looked cute being "Jessie."
We had a great Halloween. It was a Toy Story year for us! It was an easy choice with the boys loving Buzz & Woody - the challenge was piecing together a "Jessie" outfit since we could not find an infant size one. We figure this might be the last year to coordinate outfits as each child becomes a bit more opinionated so we had a lot of fun with the theme. Halloween night was a lot of fun! We went to 2 fall festivals, went trick or treating with the cousins and just like last year, the boys loved handing candy out at our house and seeing other people's costumes. Aaron slept until 9:45am the next morning - a record! Not sure what we'll do next year when he will have to get up for school!
