Shots

Just got the boys their swine flu shots today. Aaron was funny - I felt I had to prepare him since he hasn't had a shot in two years. As soon as we turned into the dr.'s office, he screamed "Oh no! Not the shot! Not the shot!" Fun times. Both boys did great and Aaron actually ended up getting the nasal mist after all my prepping. I hear at 4 they get a bunch of shots so his day is coming soon. They also got the seasonal flu shots a couple of weeks ago so we are all set to avoid the flu - plus I have hand sanitizer stashed just about everywhere! Here's a recent pic of Caleb since I didn't take my camera to the doctor's. Although I wish I had b/c they looked awfully cute in the waiting room, sitting next to each other reading magazines - Caleb had "Forbes" and Aaron "Fly Fishing". :)At Children's Day Out Pumpkin Patch - Aunt Merydwen was the photographer.

First Parade

Caleb participated in his first parade this morning. Our MOPS group (http://www.kerrvillemops.org/) put a float in the Kerr County Fair Parade and got a first place, blue ribbon! Our float was so fun - complete with a frazzled mom, laundry everywhere (truck top, antenna, etc.), burning stove and bubbles coming out of the washing machine. The kids followed behind looking cute in their Halloween costumes. Aaron wanted to be in the parade but "didn't want people to look at him" so opted to sit with Scott.

"God's not talkin' to me"

"Mommy! God's not talkin' to me!" is what Aaron yelled at me while he was taking a bath last night. I asked what he wanted God to talk to him about. "Well, I asked Him for a bathtub that was REALLY tall and REALLY long, and God's NOT talkin' to me!" Scott chimed in at this point to let Aaron know that mommy has been talking to God about the same thing for a LONG time to no avail. :) Anyways, Aaron and I then embarked on a very lengthy toddler discussion on the different ways we can hear God talk and also the different answers He can choose to give us - a "no" or "not right now" are answers even if it is not what we want to hear. I think the lesson was more for me than my three-year-old.

Weekend Review

Another great weekend. Got to enjoy the same people as last weekend, just in Kerrville this time. Kasey and her family and also Cory & Evie, made the trip to Kerrville for family cedar cutting weekend at my parent's. It was fun for the boys and Alayna to play together again - 2 weekends in a row. The guys worked very hard with the trees and the weather was perfect. No chainsaw injuries to report except for after they were finished and Kasey tripped over the chainsaw and nicked her toe. Not bad! The huge wood chipper definitely made us nervous the kiddos!

This time we went to the pumpkin patch in beautiful Medina, TX.

Busy cousins!

Busy Weekend Part 3

To top off our busy weekend, we made a stop in Burnet on our drive home to see Thomas the Tank Engine. That place was crazy busy - I think every family in Texas with a boy ages 2 - 4 was there! This was actually our second time to see Thomas. We made the trip back in March to Grapevine and had horribly cold and windy weather. This weekend's 50 degrees and drizzle was GREAT compared to the weather back in March - I think it even snowed that morning a bit. Aaron was just as excited to see Thomas this time as last time. The only that might have made this time better was the Thomas train whistle his Grammy bought him.
Blowing his Thomas whistle at Thomas ...
Lots of Thomas activities to do!

They had the "big" slide. We stood in line and the whole time I thought Aaron would chicken out b/c he had to go 100% by himself, aside from the strange man at the top to help him down. Aaron was very brave and had a blast!

Busy Weekend Part 2

After a very cold & wet Friday in Temple, we woke up to just a cold & damp Saturday morning and headed to a nearby Pumpkin Patch with the kids. They all loved it! It got a little cool towards the end, but who wants to wear sunscreen or short sleeves to a pumpkin patch anyways?Caleb totally loved the petting zoo! By far his favorite part!

Caleb in the maze. It made the perfect, contained place for him to toddle around.
Love this pic below of my baby with his baby blues ... I just love him! Aaron on the go!

Busy Weekend Part 1

We just got back from a visit to Temple to see my sisters and nieces. Too many pics to go through right now so thought I would stagger them in separate posts. The weather was so nice on Thursday when we got into town, that we took the kids to the park in Kasey's neighborhood. Good thing we did since the weather got nasty for the rest of our trip.

Cousins ready for the park.

Aaron used to climb up this slide when he was too little for it. Now it's little brother's turn.

Sweet Baby Allison with adoring big cousin Aaron. Caleb has very different opinions about her whenever I get the rare chance to hold her.

First Roller Coaster

Aaron rode his first roller coaster at Sea World this weekend. He was so brave and loved it! The day started out pretty cold and wet but cleared up for us by the time we made it to the park so we overall had a great day, with nice cooler weather and hardly any crowd (at first). We have loved having our season's passes this year! The boys are at such fun ages!
Standing on his toes to try to get to ride more rides ...
When asked if he was scared, Aaron said, "No, but my body was." hah!
The two brave roller coaster riders...
The Seasame Street show they have this month was definitely a highlight!
