15 Months

My baby turned 15 months old over the weekend. He had his checkup today so here are the stats for those of you that care to know them:

height: 30.25 inches (10 - 25%)
weight: 21 pounds (10 - 25%)
head: 18 inches (10- 25%)
So he continues to measure smaller but you wouldn't guess it by looking at him or by the way he eats. He was also quite the little stinker at the appointment and refused to stand or cruise or do anything but crawl. He is definitely still a crawler but he is starting to take more steps so maybe in a week or so we can officially call him a walker and he can FINALLY promote Sunday School classes instead of hanging out with the 8-month-olds while his friends his age run around in the class next door. :) He is still the sweetest little boy with his easy smile and generous hugs & kisses... and definitely very much still a momma's boy.

Steppin' Up

Look who decided he is capable of standing on his own two feet. These pictures are from our Temple weekend. On Friday night, Caleb just "rose up & walked!" I think he knew he was no longer the baby of the family & had to do something for attention. He was quite proud of himself! Now that we are home, he is back to crawling and hip sitting most of the time, with the occasional inspired moment to take a couple of steps. He will be 15 months old next week.

Family Fun

Whew - what a weekend! We spent the weekend in Temple with my entire family as everyone came to meet Baby Allison. All five cousins had a blast together!

Baby Allison was of course the main attraction. We had a lot of fun doing a photo shoot for her baby announcements.

Aaron LOVED his baby girl cousin. He was very protective and sweet with her. First time, he has been like that with a baby.

We took all the kids to a splash park. Aaron loved it!
Alayna loved it the most! Too cute!

Caleb zonked out on the drive over to the splash park and would not wake up for anything. This ended up being his one short nap for day ...

Caleb did get plenty of splash time later that afternoon at Kasey's redneck pool party where all of us grown ups hung out with our feet in the baby pool while the kiddos played.

Uncle Michael made a toy sword out of cardboard that was quite a hit. Aaron said he was going to keep it forever.

Fun times of trying to get a photo of my mom & dad with all five grandkids... I think we did end up with a good one, just not on my camera.

It was extra special that my Pa & Glenda were able to come down and see everyone.

Family Reunion 2009

We celebrated Scott's annual Goodwin family reunion last weekend on the beautiful Blanco River in Wimberly, Texas. It was a lot of fun despite the heat. I really really really hoped Caleb would be walking by now or at least standing on his own so that we would not have to have him crawling all over the dirt and grass, but alas, he has a mind of his own. My solution - the wagon. He spent a good 4 days strapped into his wagon and would stay for long periods of time content as he could be - puffy Cheetos helped with that too!

Cake!

Isn't this about how we all feel about wedding cake? Aaron literally went air born when he saw Cory & Evie's "stacked up cake." One of the bridesmaids was kind enough to send us the priceless photo!

Welcome Baby Allison

I am so excited to introduce my newest niece Allison Page Storey. Sweet little Allison was born at 1:12 am early this morning and is 6 pounds, 11 ounces, 19 inches long - just about like her big brother Payton predicted. My little sister Lindsey did an amazing job with delivery after 27 hours of labor and close to 3 hours of pushing. We thank God that Allison arrived safe & sound, especially given Lindsey's preeclampsia and subsequent early induction. Lindsey gave me the most generous gift ever last night by allowing me to be in the delivery room with her and Brandon. Having had two scheduled c-sections myself, a "normal" birth was something I thought I would never get to see. It was one of the most amazing experiences ever, and I am forever grateful for her and Brandon giving me that blessing. I am even more grateful for my precious new niece!
