First Pro Hair Cut

I finally bit the bullet and Caleb's first pro haircut done today. He did a great job! Much better than me - I just hate how haircuts make them look so much older in a matter of minutes.
Who is this lady and what is she going to do to me? Looks like mommy is the one long overdue for a haircut...

We got a little fussy but like being turned around and smiling for the camera.

Suckers always help.

My little boy.

Beach Part 3 - Boy Hair

It was so fun to have my older sister and her family at the beach with us. Kasey actually planned most of the trip. One perk was date night when we swapped childcare in order to have a kid-free dinner. We had Alayna during bath time. My niece has the most fabulous hair with great curls. After bath time, I combed Caleb's hair and then before I knew it I had combed Alayna sweet hair just like a boy's! I sooooooo don't know what to do with girl hair!part to the side and comb ...

So glad Caleb has a cousin so close in age - they are 3 months apart.

This just makes me laugh - they didn't appreciate the camera flash interrupting their Elmo.

Beach Part 2 - The Shell Fairy

My mom was so funny about the beach not having any good shells for her grandkids to find. So she did what any good Grammy would do ... she went to a gift shop and BOUGHT shells that she placed on the beach for the kids to find like an Easter Egg Hunt. She even did this for a family passing by with two little girls. They loved it! Kasey got this great pic of Aaron happy with his shell. One of the few pics of his face we have since he was running around and in the water so much.

This is the other pic we have of Aaron's face ...

Alayna and her shell. Caleb did not particpate in the shell hunt since it took place too close to the water for his comfort. :)

Beach 2009 Part 1

We just got back from a short trip to the coast. I am having such a hard time picking which photos to post. There will definitely be more of Caleb since he was more of a beach baby (avoiding the waves and water at all cost ... I think MAYBE his toes got wet). Aaron surprised us all with how fearless he was with the waves. He stayed in the water as much as possible and ran around like crazy. This trip was also nice because my parents and older sister Kasey (and Michael & Alayna) were able to be there. Hopefully next time it will work for the entire family to go - we had a blast! I asked Aaron what his favorite part was and he said, "everything!"

Brothers ... I love their little shadows!

Sunrise from our balcony.

Fun in the sand/mud!
Only water Caleb got close too! He loved the water hole daddy dug him.

Cousin Alayna liked it too!
Caleb got a little sleepy ...

Date night at the beach. We swapped out childcare one night and got to have dinner by ourselves. Nice perk of vacationing with family!

Ultimate beach playplen.

Caleb was so funny with all the birds. He would flap his arms and chase them!

Okay... so I will try to post some pics of Aaron later since little brother stole the show with this post. Off to do some sandy laundry for now.

Family Fun

Labor Day Weekend was busy with both my family and some of Scott's family in town. Family football - Aaron did not like it when daddy didn't give him the ball.

Caleb wanted to join right in - no fear.

Caleb also thought he belonged at the big kid table.

Okay, so I finally joined Facebook so please look me up if you are interested and want to be one of my very first friends. I plan to keep the blog up and running so things should be status quo here in blog world - it seems so much more peaceful here ...

When we found out Caleb was a boy, I was on cloud nine and so very happy to be having another boy. I liked the idea of Aaron having a brother, the fact that they could share a room (one day), and I especially liked that we would get our moneys worth out of all the boy clothes! This was one of my favorite Aaron outfits and Caleb looked pretty cute in it this morning.

Back to School

The boys had their first day of Children's Day Out today. They will go on Tuesdays & Thursdays. This is Aaron's 3rd year and Caleb's 1st year to go both days. They were awfully cute this morning in their outfits and backpacks from Nana! Aaron was also very excited about "school" and did great - no shyness whatsoever. Caleb had different opinions about being away from mommy all morning and was sure to let his teachers and me know all about it. He still looked cute though!
