Clothing Optional

Judging from the pics from this past weekend I thought that was a fitting title for this post. We had a fun weekend visiting my sisters/nieces in Temple and old friends in Waco. Scott stayed home to move his office into a different building so me & the kids skipped town with my mom since he would be busy all weekend long. Scott worked really hard and his office looks great! Okay, back to the trip with the boys. I managed to not pack my camera so thank you to Kasey and Jennifer for the pics. Add Image

We couldn't find Aaron at dinner time at Kasey's. He had managed to buckle himself up in the baby swing and thought he was pretty clever. Of course, no need to worry about weight limit with him being skin & bones.

Shortly after dinner... who needs bibs when you can just strip?

Aaron really loves his little cousin Alayna.

Cousins all ready for bed - fully clothed.

Wonderful friends from our Waco days. Jennifer, Kelly (and baby Abby) and me.

With our naked children - Aaron, Kelly's Caleb, Jennifer's Mason, baby Abby and my Caleb. Kelly's kids were only dressed b/c they were leaving. :)

To complete the theme... bathtime at Jennifer's before we headed back to Temple.

We were also able to visit my grandparents this weekend but no camera equals no pics. The boys were fully clothed for that part of our trip.

Aaron was a great big brother today and shared his "chocolate popsicle" with Caleb all on his own. Caleb enjoyed himself thoroughly!

A night on the town

This weekend Scott & I had a small getaway to downtown San Antonio. The boys stayed with my parents on Friday night while we enjoyed 27 glorious kid-free hours together. From best we can recall, this was our first night away, just us, in 3 years! No great pictures to share since we both refused to pose by ourselves. The boys had a blast at my parents and BOTH slept solid from 8:30pm - 8:00am ... that never happens at our house! They must have played hard!

Double Trouble

The boys just couldn't resist the race car shopping cart at H-E-B. They thought they were something else! And of course were quite cute at it and charmed their way through the aisles while I tried (unsuccessfully at times) not to plow into people/things with my extra long, very hard to steer cart. I think the cart made me spend more money b/c I had a child-free cart to fill up for the first time in a long time, and the boys were having so much fun that I just kept shopping... tricky H-E-B.

First Lemonade Stand

For a few weeks now Aaron has been asking to have a lemonade stand, and we have had several practice ones with me, him & Caleb inside the house. Our friends, The Hazel's, had a garage sale and invited Aaron to have his stand. He didn't forget about the offer and wanted to have his stand despite all the other things we had going on this weekend. We really didn't expect much with his shy personality in a crowd... here are the pics:
Caleb was Mr. Personality and gladly manned the stand and also served as quality control with sampling the product.
Aaron ran and hid behind the stroller any time someone came close to the stand. Total in sales: $1.25. Scott closed up shop pretty quickly when it became clear it would be mommy doing all the work and that Aaron was too shy to even say thank you to his customers. So all in all, it went about like we were expecting. :)

This weekend my two sisters and two nieces came into town to visit. Here are a few snapshots but I really didn't have my camera out that much... I managed to not get a pic Baby Allison, but I sure did enjoy holding her when I got the chance between chasing my own two kids around. When Aaron found out the baby was coming to visit, he said, "Oh! I love Baby Allison!!! But she sure is sleepy." :)
Fun at the park.
Alayna being sweet with her big cousin Aaron after pool time.

Alayna & Caleb feeding the deer at Papa & Grammy's house. It didn't take long for Caleb to decide the deer corn looked a whole lot like the corn he had for dinner ...

New Shoes

Every year Nana takes the boys to get a good pair of school shoes from Striderite. This year was the first year to have 4 boys to fit for shoes (Caleb didn't qualify last year as a 3 month old - he barely made the cut this year as a 15 month old mostly CRAWLER). We loaded up the van and all seven us made the trip down to San Antonio. It all went surprisingly smooth. The 3 "big" boys sat in the back row all together and had a blast. They all picked out their favorites shoes and then it was off to the playground and ice cream. I took pictures to document Caleb's first pair of "real" shoes. Thanks Nana!

Caleb has such a little foot - he measured a size 4 which is what Aaron was wearing when he starting taking steps at 10 months.

I am pretty sure Marble Slab strategically placed themselves by the mall playground and kids' stores. Aaron wanted "pink" ice cream with M& M's on top.

I ordered Cale is own "pink" ice cream b/c I knew he would insist. He ate it all up with a bit of help from mommy.

"It's my red backpack!!!"

Nana generously offered to the get boys new backpacks. Aaron picked his red backpack out online and had to wait for the delivery man to bring it to his door step. He did not disappoint with opening his mystery box - shouts of "It's my red backpack!!!!" could be heard repeatedly all over the house. Of course, the box was just as fun as the gift.
PS: Pants do seem to be optional these days for Aaron.
