Sea World

We celebrated Caleb's actual birthday on Saturday with his first trip to Sea World. We had such a fun time! We went to the dolphin tank first thing before it got too crowded, and we got to be really close to the dolphins. One even did a flip right in front of us and splashed Caleb pretty good. (dolphin pic is NOT zoomed in). Both boys loved the Shamu show - Aaron jumped up & down every time Shamu made a big jump, and Caleb clapped & smiled the entire time. I am having a hard time with my "baby" turning one but outings like this remind me of the all fun that lies ahead. Enjoy the pics!

Creative Gift

So on my birthday this past week Aaron surprised me with a "special" gift. I guess he felt the need to make sure I had something to open from him, so he secretly shopped around the house and proudly presented me with the following "gifts" all stuffed into a left over Happy Birthday bag from Caleb's party:

3 ring hole puncher
Elmo sing along toy
TV remote control
Blue ribbon
Baby monitor
Wireless router
Staple remover

He was certainly proud of himself! And had me open it several times.

Here are a few pics from Easter and also from the egg hunt at Caleb's party. I think this was Aaron's 5th egg hunt in 4 days... he was a pro this year - getting the concept to grab as many eggs as possible then look into eggs vs. last year when he would stop at each egg, sit down and open it up. Caleb mainly enjoyed shaking his eggs like a rattle. (PS: If you wonder why there are way more pics of Caleb than Aaron is not from lack of trying - Aaron has very strong opinions about picture taking which should be interesting at my brother's wedding this summer where Aaron is the ring bearer!)

Caleb's Party

We celebrated Caleb's first birthday (2 weeks early) this weekend while all my siblings were in town. He had an Easter themed party since I refused to do the theme Scott really wanted which was of Caleb's favorite thing - Mommy. Yes, Scott was all set on a "Mommy" party with my face printed on the cups, plates, etc. since I am by far Caleb's favorite toy. So... Easter party it was! We had the party at Nana & Poppa's house andRae went all out with the decorations, down to homemade cookie bouquets. Special thanks to Aunt Kasey & Aunt Lindsey for the great bunny cake. A fun time for everyone and Caleb especially enjoyed his first taste of sugar! More pics from the egg hunt to come ~
Big brother patiently looking onto Caleb's presents!

It's Party Time

We are gearing up for Caleb's 1st birthday (small affair with family which turns out to not be so small with my family). My sister-in-law designed the cutest invitation that I just had to show off. Thanks Aunt Merydwen!

First Haircut

So we finally gave Caleb his first haircut. I was not in a rush to cut his hair b/c haircuts always make babies look more grown-up, and I like my baby staying a baby as long as possible. For quite a while, he's needed a trim over his ears. The rest of his hair is pretty crazy and grows randomly long in some places and very short in others - so a professional/non-mommy cut will probably be needed in the future. Here is crazy before and handsome after.

First Bluebonnets

Last weekend we had a family get-a-way up to North Texas. We made a much needed pit stop in China Spring to visit my Pa & Glenda. As usual, they had a field full of bluebonnets which was great since it is not a very impressive year for them down here in Kerrville. So we actually got pictures of Caleb with his first bluebonnets. I should of had him in pants b/c he definitely did not like sitting in them. He is a cutie any way.

Better late than never...

Okay - so I am caving into the peer pressure and finally setting up a blog after enjoying following other friends' for years. So for any of you that care to follow the happenings of my crazy life with two young boys (and a 30-year old one), please do so.

More to come when I get around to it ~ :)

PS: Thanks Kelly for the great header and blog assistance!
